Mengad Studio is the fine-art practice of photographer James Issam Mengad. He photographs living cultures in colour, in the moment before it shifts.
Nothing is staged. Nobody poses, nobody is paid, and nothing is moved for the frame. He waits, and the picture is given or it is not.

The studio's first releaseThis site releases the first public editions from our ten year archive. Early collectors and trade partners are working with the studio at the start - receiving first-edition prints from a body of that has, until now, only been shown privately.
