STUDIO

A photography practice for hospitality.

Mengad Studio exists to make photographs that belong on hospitality walls — quietly, durably, with the kind of authority a property earns rather than buys.

That conviction came from a frustration: too many beautifully designed hotels carry walls that have given up. Stock prints. Generic abstractions. Imagery that could have hung anywhere, in any property, in any city. The architecture tells one story; the walls tell a different, weaker one.

I'm James Issam Mengad. I founded the studio in 2020, with a single intention: that photography for hospitality should match the standards of the rooms it eventually hangs in. Not louder. Not busier. Not more obviously decorative. Just better made.

The right photograph doesn’t decorate a room. It completes it.
